Language Competition
In 1974 the German Language Contest was initiated. Each year in May, students of the German language in the Region of Waterloo are invited to participate in this competition which is held at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. Also, high school students who scored highest in their class in first and second-year German receive awards. Trophies, certificates, and valuable cash awards are presented to the winning students at the "Wilfrid L. Bitzer Event" celebrated each September/October with an attandance of over 120 guests. Generous sponsors, companies and individuals, make this event possible.
